The Los Alamos Nature Center has re-opened to the public for limited hours. Things will look a bit different while visiting the nature center right now, but we are so excited to welcome you back. In order to make your visit as safe as possible and to follow State recommendations and requirements, we have made some changes to the visitor experience.
Browse the demonstration gardens, get dirty in the nature play area, learn about all the plants and animals that make up the Vertical Mile of Diversity, find your next adventure on our 3-D topo map of the area, or pick up a Passport to the Pajarito Plateau and get started hiking our incredible trail system.
Meet all the critters, including Tad, Poole, and Gilly, the Canyon Tree Frogs and Titus the Tiger Salamander. Watch the ants tunnel in their visible ant mound, or just relax on our comfy chairs to admire the breathtaking views from the floor-to-ceiling windows. Then, join us for a small-group program or tune in for an online talk from the comfort of home. View our event calendar to see what’s coming up.
